Internal Tooling Full-Stack Engineer

Location: Hybrid - Chicago Loop

About the role:

• You will be an integral part of the Internal Tooling team working with a variety of tools and with people from all across the company. By being exposed to all aspects of DG’s products and business you will be able to make a direct impact on thousands of youth organizations and technology projects.

• We are a well-organized engineering team following industry best practices that balance the longevity and growth of the company. We have a strong, Chicago-based, manufacturing presence with software engineering teams in Poland and Ukraine.
• Work in a highly collaborative environment with cross-functional teams on projects ranging from a few days to a few months in length
• Continuous delivery of new, high-quality software features

Experience & Skills we value:

• 2-7 years of software development experience
• Experience working in a variety of languages and systems with a firm understanding of industry best practices
• Enjoy the art in code you write and work hard to make it maintainable for your future self as well as your colleagues on your team
• Experience within our tech stack: Typescript, React, Node.js, Next.JS, and Retool. Our infrastructure is composed of AWS Lamdas, Postgres, and AWS SQS; as well as a number of other domain-specific tools and services. 
• You like talking and engaging with team members outside of engineering to help them define solutions to their needs via code
• Solid understanding of writing testable code and building unit and integration tests
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Nice to have and/or you’ll learn: 

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Love good statistical analysis and the power of data-driven decisions
• Experience with design to front-end development tools and design systems
• Experience in software for supply chain and logistics
• E-commerce experience
