The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Cyber Security Specialist, responsible for implementing/maintaining the SAF/FMFD cybersecurity program and ensuring compliance with DoDI 8500.01. Perform Information System Security Manager duties, coordinating, advising, planning, and organizing all activities related to certification and accreditation of information systems.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Critical Sensitive Security Clearance with access to sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A Non-Disclosure agreement must be signed.

- Incumbent is subject to initial and random drug testing.

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: applying a wide range of IT security principles, methods, techniques, and procedures related to access control; application development; contingency planning; cryptography; governance and risk management; laws, regulations, investigations, and compliance; networking, physical and environmental security; personnel, industrial, and information security; and secure systems operations and maintenance. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of applying a wide range of IT security principles, methods, techniques, and procedures related to access control; application development; contingency planning; cryptography; governance and risk management; laws, regulations, investigations, and compliance; networking, physical and environmental security; personnel, industrial, and information security; and secure systems operations and maintenance.
2. Knowledge applying risk assessment and management principles, methods, techniques, and procedures to include identification and mitigation of threats and vulnerabilities, as well as likelihood and magnitude of business and/or mission impacts.
3. Knowledge of IT operations and service management principles, methods, techniques, and procedures, particularly those related to secure operations and maintenance of systems, e.g., access control, audit and accountability, secure configuration management, incident response, media protection, physical and environmental protection, personnel security, information security, industrial security, system and communications protection, and system and information integrity.
4. Skill in applying acquisition and integrated lifecycle management principles, methods, techniques and procedures, as needed to integrate IT security into organizationally managed programs/systems by working collaboratively with other functional disciplines, such as program managers, systems engineers, contracting officers, and financial managers.
5. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy to a wide range of audiences at various levels throughout the Air Force, DoD, other Federal agencies, contractors, and private industry.
6. Skill in applying emerging technologies and their applications to business processes and IT cybersecurity concepts, standards, federal laws and methods.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
