Primary Purpose:
The IT Software Programmer II is in the Information Technology Division. The position contributes to software development projects by performing software programming (primarily) and participating in other software development lifecycle activities (requirements, design, test, documentation, 2nd and 3rd level support). Experience with Robotic Process Automation (e.g. UiPath, PowerAutomate,Sikulix, or other) highly preferred.
The IT Software Programmer II contributes to software development projects by performing software programming (primarily) and participating with other software development lifecycle activities (requirements, design, test, documentation, 2nd and 3rd level support). Implements basic programming concepts, including logic constructs and OOP, within standard architectural patterns, such as event-driven programming, client/server architecture, and n-tier architecture. Relies on instructions and guidance from senior project team members and from direct supervisors. Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. These programs may include desktop applications, interfaces, web applications, stored procedures, or other software artifacts depending on specific job responsibility. Adheres to ARUP's enterprise software development policies and departmental software development processes. Develops expertise in applicable software development tools, techniques, and environments.

Physical and Other Requirements:
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
