Key Account Manager - Quebec SAQ

Context and Scope:

Diageo Canada's ambition is to create the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer company in Canada. We are a total beverage alcohol company operating within the spirits, beer and RTD categories. Reporting into the Performance Manager Director of Eastern Canada, the role of Key Account Manager (KAM) will lead retail business performance of the Diageo Spirits, RTD and Beer categories at the SAQ.

Purpose of Role:

  • To lead the development and execution of the category and customer strategy for Spirits, delivering short- and long-term sustainable growth for Diageo and customer
  • Support the achievement of regional objectives to deliver against Brand strategies as well as customer goals.
  • Build and manage relationships across internal and external key partners, working closely with the brand teams and customer marketing teams.
  • Educate and inspire the total organization in Quebec to build understanding of the SAQ and how we can best partner with them

Key Outputs and Results:

  • Outpace the Spirits industry in retail value share growth
  • In partnership with Regional Customer Development Manager, be responsible for building and implementing annual business plan and promotional calendars with the SAQ
  • Monitor business performance on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and course correct to ensure that we are able meet or exceed our goals.
  • Leverage category management, customer marketing, marketing, finance, and supply chain to build strong relationships with the customer and bring breakthrough ideas to our customer.
  • Develop the joint business plan leveraging the multi-functional team in collaboration with the SAQ
  • Build internal alignment and leverage internal resources to deliver against our aspiration and commitments with the SAQ.
  • Assists in communication and delivery of marketing programs and point of sale materials to the broker to ensure timely sell-in and execution of programs.
  • Maintain high levels of team engagement and a culture that encompasses Diageo Values.


Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • An experienced Sales/Business Leader with a strong track record of delivering results over time
  • Strong commercial capabilities and experience working with sophisticated retail customers building deep,
    trusting relationships.
  • Broad Sales and Commercial capability ideally with depth in Key Account Management and Customer Marketing.
  • Must have excellent analytical, influencing, organizational, computer and communication skills
  • Has deep understanding of how brands and categories are built.
  • Previous experience of working with sophisticated retail customers with a track record of building strong relationships partnering to deliver business growth is an advantage
  • Strong Sales and Commercial strategy skills
  • Highly skilled in complex negotiations and conflict resolution.
  • Very Strong financial capability (can understand a complex P&L in depth) and understanding of market share levers
  • Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry and experience in a liquor-controlled environment is a distinct advantage.

Nous sommes une entreprise de boissons alcoolisées opérant dans les catégories des spiritueux, de la bière et des boissons prêtes à boire (RTD). Relevant du Directeur de la Performance de l'Est du Canada, le Responsable Comptes Majeurs (KAM) est responsable de la performance commerciale de détail des catégories de spiritueux, prêt à boire et bières à la SAQ.

Objectif du RĂ´le :

  • Diriger le dĂ©veloppement et l'exĂ©cution de la stratĂ©gie de catĂ©gorie et de client pour les spiritueux, en livrant une croissance durable Ă  court et Ă  long terme pour Diageo et le client.
  • Soutenir l'atteinte des objectifs rĂ©gionaux pour respecter les stratĂ©gies de marque ainsi que les objectifs des clients.
  • Établir et gĂ©rer des relations avec les principales parties prenantes internes et externes, en travaillant en Ă©troite collaboration avec les Ă©quipes de marque et les Ă©quipes de marketing client.
  • Éduquer et inspirer l'ensemble de l'organisation au QuĂ©bec pour dĂ©velopper la comprĂ©hension de la SAQ et comment nous pouvons mieux collaborer avec eux.


Résultats et Livrables Clés :

  • DĂ©passer l'industrie des spiritueux en termes de croissance de part de marchĂ© au dĂ©tail.
  • En partenariat avec le Responsable du dĂ©veloppement Client rĂ©gional, ĂŞtre responsable de la mise en Ĺ“uvre du plan d'affaires annuel et des calendriers promotionnels avec la SAQ.
  • Surveiller la performance commerciale sur une base quotidienne, hebdomadaire et mensuelle et ajuster le tir pour s'assurer que nous sommes en mesure d'atteindre ou de dĂ©passer nos objectifs.
  • Tirer parti de la gestion de catĂ©gorie, du marketing client, du marketing, des finances et de la chaĂ®ne d'approvisionnement pour Ă©tablir des relations solides avec le client et apporter des idĂ©es novatrices Ă  notre client.
  • DĂ©velopper le plan d'affaires conjoint en s'appuyant sur l'Ă©quipe multifonctionnelle en collaboration avec la SAQ.
  • Construire un alignement interne et mobiliser des ressources internes pour respecter nos aspirations et engagements avec la SAQ.
  • Aider Ă  la communication et Ă  la mise en Ĺ“uvre des programmes marketing et des matĂ©riaux de point de vente auprès du courtier pour garantir une vente et une exĂ©cution des programmes en temps voulu.

Qualifications et Expérience Requises :

  • Un leader en ventes/affaires expĂ©rimentĂ© avec un solide bilan de rĂ©sultats sur le long terme.
  • De fortes capacitĂ©s commerciales et une expĂ©rience de travail avec des clients de dĂ©tail sophistiquĂ©s, Ă©tablissant des relations profondes et de confiance.
  • Large capacitĂ© commerciale et en ventes, idĂ©alement avec une profondeur en gestion des comptes clĂ©s et marketing client.
  • Excellentes compĂ©tences analytiques, d'influence, d'organisation, informatiques et de communication.
  • ComprĂ©hension approfondie de la construction des marques et des catĂ©gories.
  • Une expĂ©rience antĂ©rieure de travail avec des clients de dĂ©tail sophistiquĂ©s, avec un bilan de construction de relations solides pour favoriser la croissance des affaires, est un avantage.
  • CompĂ©tences stratĂ©giques en ventes et commerciales solides.
