Job Description

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex L3 escalations related to NetScaler configurations, including load balancing, SSL offloading, and VPN settings.
  • Collaborate with network and security teams to optimize the NetScaler infrastructure, ensuring both high performance and robust security standards are met.
  • Continuously monitor and fine-tune NetScaler devices to maintain optimal performance, ensuring high availability and scalability in the environment.
  • Design, implement, and manage load balancing configurations for critical applications, utilizing both Layer 4 and Layer 7 technologies.
  • Streamline tasks and configuration processes by leveraging automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, or the NetScaler NITRO API.
  • Oversee security-related tasks such as managing and configuring SSL certificates, performing SSL offloading, and securing remote access through NetScaler Gateway.
  • Plan and implement upgrades and patches for both software and firmware, handling the complete lifecycle management of the NetScaler platform.
  • Keep detailed and up-to-date documentation of all NetScaler configurations, including network diagrams and associated processes.
  • Set up and maintain monitoring solutions to track performance and availability metrics, ensuring any potential issues are identified and addressed proactively.
  • Ensure the NetScaler environment is properly configured for disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams, including network, server, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the NetScaler platform.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design of the concerned tower (platform, database, middleware, backup etc) as well as managing its day-to-day operations

Do

  1. Provide adequate support in architecture planning, migration & installation for new projects in own tower (platform/dbase/ middleware/ backup)
    1. Lead the structural/ architectural design of a platform/ middleware/ database/ back up etc. according to various system requirements to ensure a highly scalable and extensible solution
    2. Conduct technology capacity planning by reviewing the current and future requirements
    3. Utilize and leverage the new features of all underlying technologies to ensure smooth functioning of the installed databases and applications/ platforms, as applicable
    4. Strategize & implement disaster recovery plans and create and implement backup and recovery plans
  2. Manage the day-to-day operations of the tower
    1. Manage day-to-day operations by troubleshooting any issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and developing fixes to avoid similar issues.
    2. Plan for and manage upgradations, migration, maintenance, backup, installation and configuration functions for own tower
    3. Review the technical performance of own tower and deploy ways to improve efficiency, fine tune performance and reduce performance challenges
    4. Develop shift roster for the team to ensure no disruption in the tower
    5. Create and update SOPs, Data Responsibility Matrices, operations manuals, daily test plans, data architecture guidance etc.
    6. Provide weekly status reports to the client leadership team, internal stakeholders on database activities w.r.t. progress, updates, status, and next steps
    7. Leverage technology to develop Service Improvement Plan (SIP) through automation and other initiatives for higher efficiency and effectiveness
