This opportunity is accountable for creating, developing and implementing North America-wide internal and external communications by collaborating with senior leaders to develop relevant, polished writing, presentations, press releases, social media, and web content and reviewing work to ensure adherence to organizational brand requirements.

Primary Responsibilities • Develop and execute communications plans for a wide range of activities designed to inform, educate and activate employees using a balanced mix of channels to maximize the reach and consumption of key messages and content• Plan, develop and execute employee communications and engagement strategy with initiatives that bring the company's narrative and culture to life through a broad spectrum of employee touch points, including company meetings, intranet, executive communications and culture/engagement activities• Participate in cross-functional teams and working groups to gather, connect and develop compelling and relevant content• Champion disciplined communication planning with a strong focus on timing, relevancy, and consistency• Evaluate communications performance via metrics and employee feedback, recommending refinements to internal communications strategies, messaging, and employee feedback mechanisms as needed• Serve as a trusted adviser with business leaders by utilizing expertise, sharing knowledge and recommending communications strategies to support change, meet business needs and inform targeted audiences

Required Education • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience • 7 years relevant experience

Preferred Competencies/Skills • Exceptional creative writing and editing skills• Effectively present information to influence and persuade organizational leaders and key stakeholders• Clearly and confidently convey information to various audiences through speech and writing• Define and measure results against key performance indicators• Solve problems in ambiguous or difficult situations• Identify and appreciate the broad perspective and how it relates to smaller details• Utilize motivational, inspirational and enthusiastic approach to team involvement and engagement• Adapt and be flexible in a complex changing environment• Ability to communicate effectively and quickly build trusted relationships within an organization• Demonstrated organizational, project management and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience • Minimum of 4 years experience leading and designing internal employee communications• Experience in HR and people communications highly desirable• Insurance/financial services industry experience a plus

Preferred Knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media• Science and art of delivering information, including understanding of communication vehicles and targeted audiences• Relevant communications trends• New and emerging tools and technologies relevant to the line of work• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite• Advanced writing mechanics and grammatical concepts• Principles and processes for building client relationships, including conducting needs assessment and meeting quality standards

US Only - Travel Frequency • Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually)

US Only - Physical Demands • General office jobs: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is not substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate basic office equipment including telephone, headset and computer. Incumbent must be able to lift basic office equipment up to 20 lbs.
