Job Description

Responsabilities:

  • Project management activities related to the supervision, organization and execution of a service project, including scope, time, contract (if not covered by a dedicated Contract Manager) cost & quality management.
  • Responsibility for project methodologies and standards including scheduling and cost-control, to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Project engineering activities related to the fulfillment of technical deliverables associated with the controls and governor product line.
  • Responsibilities include control system hardware and electrical designs, programming/configuration of PLC and HMI systems, production of supporting technical documentation and site commissioning support.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • Works in close collaboration with engineering, contract management and commercial operations
  • Support commercial quotation activities including the development of technical descriptions, cost estimates and project schedules
  • Communicate directly with internal and external customers, evaluate on-site project conditions during tendering phase

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or a degree from a Technical college
  • A minimum of 8 years of related work experience and 5 years of related experience in PLC-based automation control systems

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time both within the US and Canada

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated Project Management experience
  • Be fluent in French & English languages (reading, writing and verbal expression) - GE provides high-quality services to customers/clients located across the globe and the employee must be able to provide services in an efficient manner aligned with the standards of excellence of the company
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • PMP Accreditation or established project management skills
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Communication Networking experience
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Field commissioning experience
  • General understanding of power generation systems (i.e. Hydroelectric)
  • Detail oriented; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to work within a matrix work environment with remote teams

The salary range for this position is $91,400.00-$142,300.00 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10% variable incentive compensation. This posting is expected to close on September 15, 2024.
