Job Description
Job Responsbilities:
Process Improvement: Identify and analyse current manufacturing processes to find areas for improvement. Develop and implement Lean strategies such as 5s, SMED, one piece flow, Takt, and Kanban to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Value Stream Mapping: Create and maintain value stream maps to visualize and optimise the flow of materials and information.
Kaizen facilitation: Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, engaging cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Encourage teams to challenge the status quo and trystorm with speed.
Training & Development: Educate and coach the wider GSC team members on Lean principles and practices, creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Lean Daily Management: Develop performance management reporting through visual management to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress across all GSC functions.
Collaboration: Work closely with production, EHS, quality, maintenance, and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of Lean practices into daily operations. Encourage going to GEMBA and getting to root cause using structured methods.
Sustainability: Promote sustainable practices by reducing resource consumption and minimising environmental impact when implementing changes.
Qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience in implementing Lean methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Six Sigma, Black Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing certification would be desirable.
Skills:
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Lean tools such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
