What you’ll do:
You will work closely with the firm’s Employment and Immigration Specialist, supporting all U.S. immigration related matters. The position will involve high-volume project management of employment-based non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications and petitions handled by our external immigration counsel. You’ll also work collaboratively with Human Resources and internal recruitment teams.
- Respond to inquiries from and proactively advise Human Resources and recruitment teams on  employer-sponsored U.S. immigration matters
- Regularly provide instruction and information to employees regarding immigration practices and procedures
- Responsible for compiling, updating, and tracking various immigration status cases
- Start-to-finish preparation of employment-based nonimmigrant petitions, including H-1B; TN;
J-1; O-1; E-3; and L-1 visas - Coordinate immigration petition/application lifecycle, from initiation with external immigration counsel to ensuring case progress and timely approval
- Liaise with external immigration counsel and HR on PERM Labor Certification
- Uphold the firm’s values, adhere to the highest ethical standards and, as a member of the Law Department, deliver exceptional legal services in a manner that promotes the firm’s performance with the utmost integrity
What’s Required:
We are seeking a professional who is detail-oriented and self-motivated to join our team with the opportunity to learn and grow. Specifically, you will need:
- At least 3 years of experience related to business immigration law, including administering and preparing H-1B LCA and PERM labor certification process and documents
- Experience discussing and responding to visa/travel related questions relevant to H-1B employees
- An understanding og permissible activities under the B-1 visa and ESTA (Visa Waiver Program)
- Experience discussing and responding to I-9 questions
- Attention to detail and the tenacity to produce meticulous work product
- To be highly organized, process driven, and structured with the ability to work independently
- The ability to juggle many tasks at once under pressure, prioritize such tasks, and see each through to completion
- Exceptional reading and writing skills, as well as outstanding communication skills and interpersonal skills
- To be adaptable and willing to accept varied assignments across a broad range of responsibilities
- Adept at addressing questions and seeking appropriate resources to resolve open items or attain additional information as required
- To recognize the importance of maintaining confidentiality and exercises discretion
