Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel with 3–4 years of post-graduate experience to join our dynamic global legal team. The ideal candidate will hold a postgraduate degree in Commercial Law and demonstrate a strong command of corporate legal matters, contracts, and negotiation skills. C1 or greater English proficiency is mandatory, as the role involves frequent interaction with international teams and stakeholders. This position is hybrid in-person/remote, with the in-person portion to be located in the Bogota, Colombia offices at least 2-3 times per week.

Main duties:

• Drafting/Negotiation/Reviewing high volume of commercial contracts including Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Supplier Contracts, Licensing Agreements, Data Privacy and Security Agreements.
• Liaising with internal business clients and stakeholders as well as external clients and stakeholders to ensure timely review, negotiation, and adherence with internal policies and practices.
• Coordinate the drafting, review, and proper execution of all contracts with business units, service lines, IT, HR, Legal and Finance, as applicable.
• Formulate contract/commercial risk assessments and deliver contract briefings.
• Collaborate with project teams to fully understand the products and/or services being provided and develop contract document templates.
• Establish positive and productive relationships with contract requestor(s), project teams, and senior leadership involved in contract process.
• Research legal issues and engage in fact gathering and checking to provide support to senior legal team on all assigned legal matters.
• Effective use of contract management tools / systems / automation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized institution and a postgraduate degree in Commercial Law.
• Experience: 3–4 years of post-graduate experience at a recognized top law firm.
• Language Proficiency: C1 or greater English proficiency (written and spoken).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with contract management software is a plus.
• Legal Registration: Membership in the Colombian Bar Association (Consejo Superior de la Judicatura).

Key Competencies:

• Demonstrable experience of high-level contract drafting, negotiation, finalization and effective use of contract management policies and tools
• Solid working knowledge of legal issues related to global commercial transactions, including IP protection, data privacy and security and commercial disputes
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience interacting professionally with all levels of management, multiple geographies, internal subject matter experts, legal staff, vendors, and clients.
• Pragmatic and commercial approach to problem solving and the ability to assess commercial risks; skilled at balancing legal risk with business objectives to get deals done.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, cross-functional environment.
• Proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

• Strong ethics, integrity, and values including ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to agreement contents and other highly sensitive business matters and projects required.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work to work under pressure with strict deadlines effectively in a fast-changing business environment. 
• Ability to work well in a team environment, but also comfortable with taking ownership of projects and driving them to conclusion.
• Possess the ability to adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected shifts in priorities while maintaining focus and productivity in a high-volume environment required
• Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (and with contract management applications.
