Machine Learning Solutions Architect

As a Machine Learning Solutions Architect, you will report to the Lead Solutions Architect. You will work with clients to understand their current environment and technical challenges as well as their future state needs. You will design and propose solutions, helping clients understand how the project will accomplish their goals. You will lead a team of Machine Learning Engineers to implement projects, building cutting-edge solutions.

This position is 100% remote.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate design sessions with clients and Mission Cloud team to create the strategy, architecture, and implementation plan for data engineering projects
• Build and implement technical roadmaps in collaboration with AI Solution Architects and Project Managers that are in alignment with customer goals and objectives
• Communicate the proposed solution to clients so they understand the benefits, translating the technical elements into business language
• Develop strategic roadmaps and project plans based on customer goals
• Work with Machine Learning Engineers and Architects to break down complex development plans into LOE estimates, design documents and project plans
• Implementation of customer roadmaps in coordination with Machine Learning Engineers; ensure project tasks are completed on time, high quality, and progress toward the project goals
• Document customer technical solutions that have been implemented in alignment with Mission standards
• Create workload orchestration using common tools like Jenkins, Airflow and MLFlow
• Be the technical liaison between customers and engineering teams; communicate complex technical concepts in easy-to-understand non-technical language
• Work with Project Managers to set customer expectations, drive alignment, and coordinate timelines
• Support pre-sales engineers in proposal design and positioning, including helping define an approach to solving a prospect’s technical challenges and helping the business development team estimate and plan projects
• Be an escalation point for high-level technical and client issues
• Mentor Machine Learning Engineers and more junior consultants
• Support Data Science & Engineering process improvement initiatives
• Support Data Science & Engineering recruiting efforts by participating on interview panels

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and implementing creative ML solutions leveraging the latest in Machine Learning frameworks, especially from AWS
• Experience in database architectures and data pipeline development
• MLFlow or Sagemaker MLOps experience
• Experience working with Loading, extracting data from Glue, SQL, DDL, DML commands
• Working knowledge of AWS data solutions like RedShift, RDS, Glue, Quicksight, S3 etc.
• Ability to handle unstructured, semi-structured data, working in a data lake environment
• Experience in database architectures and data/MLOps pipeline development
• Python or R experience
• Ability to lead projects, train, and mentor more junior team members 
• Ability to work with implementation of data security, encryption, PII/PSI legislation, identity and access management across sources and environments
• AWS Data Analytics Specialty Certification (required within 6 months of hire)
• AWS Solution Architect - Associate Certification (required within 6 months of hire)
• Additional AWS Specialty Certification within the Data Analytics, Development or Machine learning space (required within 1 year of hire)

Nice to haves:

• Demonstrated knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
• Ability to architect a solution using the broader AWS ecosystem including VPC, IAM and Lambda functions
