Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Directs the negotiation, execution and ongoing management of the contractual language for Sarah Cannon Clinical Trial Agreements for oncology and non-oncology contracts. Supervises, coaches and trains the Contract Analysts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manages the Clinical Contracts team and ensures quality, service and timeline standards are met.
  • Redlines Clinical Trial Agreement, Amendment and Confidentiality Disclosure Agreement templates to incorporate Sarah Cannon-specific language and strategic site information.
  • Proposes and negotiates contract terms with pharmaceutical companies and CROs within the parameters established by Sarah Cannon.
  • Follows up on a timely basis with Sponsors and CROs in order to expedite contract language changes through until final acceptance.
  • Prepares final contracts for signature.
  • Communicates regularly with Sarah Cannon Legal to ensure that contract language is current with changing legal requirements, that sponsor and site concerns are up-to-date, and that standard contract language is altered to fully comply with current Sarah Cannon philosophy, policies, guidelines, and practices; and makes recommendations proactively for improvements and enhancements to contract language.
  • Works collaboratively with Budget Analysts to finalize Clinical Trial Agreements and payment terms.
  • Participates in clinical review meetings in order to provide updates/issues on current contract status.
  • Maintains clinical trial management system with accurate and current status of contracts and amendments.
  • Develops processes, workflows, and reports to improve efficiency and accuracy of contract negotiation processes.
  • Tracks contract metrics from beginning to execution to ensure compliance with departmental goals.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in business, paralegal, pharmaceutical, or medical environment, or equivalent experience
  • Clinical research experience, highly preferred
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Supervisory skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Mastery skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and/or other data management tools
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical time-sensitive objectives
  • Ability to read and understand basic legal and contract terminology


*Prefer someone located in the Greater Nashville Area, but open to fully remote for the right candidate. *
