The Work
The Manager, Network Engineering & Operations is responsible for leading the bank’s network operations, ensuring a secure, reliable, and efficient network infrastructure across cloud, data centers, and office locations. This role focuses on people leadership, vendor management, day-to-day operational excellence, and executing network solutions aligned with designs from the Infrastructure Solutions team. The incumbent will manage strategic vendor relationships, develop a network roadmap, drive continuous process improvements, and ensure service availability to meet business needs.Â
Core Responsibilities!
- People Leadership
- Lead a team of network engineers and analysts, providing direction, coaching, and career development guidance.Â
- Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear performance goals and providing regular feedback through 1:1 meetings and formal reviews.Â
- Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with key vendors, including Cisco, Fortinet, and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).Â
- Ensure vendors meet service level agreements (SLAs) and deliver high-quality support and solutions.Â
- Operational ManagementÂ
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the network infrastructure, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Â
- Ensure network uptime and performance through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
- Strategic Planning & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain a network roadmap that aligns with business objectives and future growth.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, including automation, to enhance network operations and efficiency.Â
- Compliance & Risk ManagementÂ
- Ensure that network operations comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.Â
- Maintain a strong risk management framework by adhering to network standards and controls.Â
Let's Talk About You!
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.Â
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles with a focus on networking and operations.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role managing technical teams.Â
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki and Cisco ISE.
- Expertise in managing Fortinet firewalls, both in Azure and on-premises environments.Â
- Public cloud experience, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
- Relevant certifications in networking technologies (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE) are an asset.Â
- ITILv4 certification or working knowledge of ITIL framework is preferred.Â
- Proven track record of delivering network projects and managing complex network environments in fast-paced industries.Â
