Manager of Engineering

Job Summary

Avantor is seeking a Manager 1, Engineering to provide technical direction to engineering projects and services in an assigned area, from design to start-up.

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Carpinteria,California office.

What we're looking for:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience:
• 5 years' experience in related engineering capacity preferred.
• Experience with common 3D and 2D CAD tools (e.g. Solidworks, AutoCAD).
• Experience with process equipment design and fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of shop operations (i.e., welding, manual machining, CNC machining).
• Additional Qualifications:
• Knowledge in electrical systems and controls, including but not limited to PLC control, SCADA systems, and industrial communication desired.
• Strong electrical and mechanical background desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of machine operation and experience with production scheduling.

• Approve design for engineering phases of projects that pertain to processing.
• Manage engineers and drafting specialists to complete projects.
• Assure that contracts are awarded to the outside vendors that offer the best price and appropriate quality.
• Manage a team of entry/intermediate professionals or Supervisors with a focus on setting objectives, plans and tactics with direct impact on the immediate or short-term operational results of the department.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$107,100.00 - $178,500.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
