Data Analytics is a highly collaborative and dynamic team that has direct impact on the company’s financial success. Our work spans the entire IDEXX software portfolio – supporting the data needs of our cross-functional departments (Sales, Marketing, Product, among others). We provide data driven recommendations, strategic insights, and intuitive dashboards & reporting, all of which are critical to the business. In this role you will be a “manager-doer” – diving into complex / evolving data to uncover insight using SQL and other languages, while also managing a direct report.

A bit more about the role:

• Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of end-to-end analytics solutions, from data layer development in SQL through visualization. 
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Veterinary Software to deliver high impact data sets, reporting, analysis, and recommendations. 
• Act as a thought leader in the analytics space, partnering closely across the organization to support strategic initiatives. 
• Query and analyze complex data sets in SQL, Heap, and other analytical tools.
• Lead product analytics architecting and analytical execution for multiple initiatives, projects, and programs. 
• Present your reports, data stories, analysis, and recommendations to business leadership teams. 
• Develop knowledge of IDEXX data systems and processes, recommending and developing new data sets for analysis. 
• Work with data source systems and target systems to identify data issues and data gaps.
• Manage one or more direct reports. 

So what are we looking for?

• Deep product analytics experience – including experience with customer data and customer analytics platforms 
• Experience in quantitative analysis, problem solving, and data visualization 
• Visualized data using tools like Looker, Tableau, or Data Studio - or have an interest in learning 
• Experience partnering closely with Director+ level stakeholders 
• Strong knowledge of data and databases with experience using a data warehousing platform such as Snowflake (strongly preferred) 
• Advanced data querying skills with SQL (required) 
• Strong presentation skills: you can turn analysis into a compelling story 
• People management experience - or an interest in learning 
• 5+ years of data analytics experience
