We are seeking an experienced Manager of Product Management to lead the charge on this mission. We are looking for an innovative, technically savvy, detail-oriented, and strategically minded product manager with strong insurance industry experience to join our Product Management team, which is focused on delivering transformational new solutions for the insurance market. This role is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and real-world experience distilling business value and goals to define priorities and roadmaps, develop business requirements, lead go-to-market plans, and execute on product delivery and performance targets. Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
The Manager, Product Management will work with customers and cross-functional teams within Vertafore to define priorities and roadmaps, develop business requirements, lead go-to-market plans, and execute on product performance targets. You will build features from existing ideas and also develop new ideas, based on industry experience and research, as well as your contact with customers and prospects. Successful candidates will possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You should enjoy spending time in the market to understand customer issues and their problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You will serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering and work closely with the Product Management, Product Development, Experience Design teams and key customers to elaborate requirements, document proposed software solutions
Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:• Serve as a strategic product thinker while driving and implementing the product processes and roadmap• Help bring to market revenue generating, customer-driven software products while managing the entire product lifecycle from strategy to execution.• Product positioning - articulate the value proposition, key business benefits, identify target audience and launch prospects (MVP, Early Adopter, General Availability). Recommend pricing strategy, understand competitive positioning for our product offering.• Product Evangelism - Contributing to necessary and relevant communication forums and supporting product leaders in various speaking opportunities• Takes the core responsibility of mentoring and coaching the other PO team members• Implement PO process and best practices to improve the overall operational efficiency and effectiveness• Helps Director, Product Management in sales requests, Analysis and various other reporting requests• Takes care of staffing needs for the team• Manage assigned staff for delivery of product management tasks and manage goal setting, performance appraisal of the team.• Help with knowledge base creation and staff learning and development (L&D) efforts• Manage the cross-functional implementation of go-to-market plans in partnership with other groups such as sales, marketing, engineering, professional services, and support• Assist with responding to requests for proposal/quote issued by prospects• Develop the necessary materials to support the effective marketing of our products• Contributing to necessary and relevant communication forums and supporting product leaders in various speaking engagements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Has exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. These skills include the ability to communicate complex concepts to all levels of an organization and customers; write reports, business correspondence, and other product and procedure documentation clearly and effectively; and editing and formatting skills that exhibit a strong sense for aesthetics and design, detail orientation, and high quality• Possesses advanced presentation creating and delivery skills• Brings strong problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; exercise judgment within generally defined practices and select methods to obtain solutions; and understand business drivers, future customer needs and competitive challenges• Have ability to develop and execute the delivery of a successful product roadmap with a proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle• Have demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence decisions in a matrix environment, including senior level leaders• Demonstrates the ability to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done• Have successful history of delivering market-driven products designed to provide an exceptional customer experience• Work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals and build solid working relationship across the organization• Clearly communicate and defend their ideas strategies• Have a passion for product quality• Have strong aptitude for learning• Are curious and driven to improve, personally and professionally• Operate best in a fast-paced, agile team environment• Strong pluses include
Qualifications:• 8+ years' experience, preferably with Product Management role for web-based enterprise software products• Experience in the insurance industry• Experience in the software and/or technology product management• MBA and/or Pragmatic Marketing training
Additional Requirements and Details:• Travel required up to 25% of the time.• Ability to work remote with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis• Located and working from an office location (when required)• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.• Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).• Frequent sitting and/or standing.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics. The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance. Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.
Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs. Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
