Job Description:

PayPal Payouts is a global, high growth product. This Business to Consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B) product allows our customers to pay thousands of their customers each and every day.

Payouts Engagement team is responsible for building world class servicing platform with elegant customer experience to serve markets around the world. The team is made up of software developers who have a passion for creating scalable platforms and easy to use interfaces. As a software engineer in Payouts Engineering team you will be instrumental in building next generation platform and craft solutions capable of delivering millions of hits every day. Candidate should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy driving innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development. Candidate should be passionate about bringing great experiences to life and comfortable working with back-end tech stacks, development frameworks, and third-party libraries.

The prospective candidate will be working with various cross-functional groups (Products, Engineering, UX, and Architects) and will require strong negotiation and influencing skills. The person is also expected to be an able individual contributor, a lead, a mentor, and a peer. 

Responsibilities:

• Managing a rapidly evolving technology stack on a diverse set of platforms ranging from Java, Node.js, React, spring, web APIs, SDKs.
• Own the efficiency, growth, and delivery of a team. Making sure the team is as productive as possible to complete short term and long term objectives.
• Manage the career path and goals of your team member, conducting regular 1-on-1s, and giving feedback.
• Own and continuously refine the processes and communication strategies your team uses to build and support products.
• Active in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and coaching a team with combined skill set meets the organization’s current and future needs.
• Work with a product manager and tech lead to ensure that the roadmap is realistic and understood.
• Build a deep understanding of how our products work and are built. Though you will not be expected to code regularly, you will need to grasp code and architecture concerns fully.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 5+ years of experience in leadership roles managing software engineers with excellent coaching skills.
• 5+ years of experience building Restful APIs, particularly loosely coupled architectures and micro-services, dev-ops model.
• Minimum 5 years experience in software development (Coding, testing, implementation etc..)
• Solid knowledge of Java, node, spring, JavaScript, webservices (REST/JSON).
• Excellent working in a fast-paced, iterative, agile development environment.
• Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and /or Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
