Job Description

Primary Function of Position

The primary role for this position is to assist in management, scheduling and development of the Manufacturing Training Team. This includes working with production supervisors to coordinate training efforts within their areas. This position will also help to perform day-to-day administrative duties and tasks to help production and training.

Essential Job Duties

  • Work with counterparts within organization to coordinate mutual goals and projects that affect Manufacturing Training in general.
  • Build training matrix according to validation of every Line Transfer plan.
  • Direct and deliver training courses in the areas of manufacturing skills and processes, quality systems/GMP practices and requirements, Information Technology tools and other subjects as required to develop trainees to a higher knowledge level.
  • Apply latest concepts and ideas to changing organizational requirements, to effectively manage training and certification criteria and requirements.
  • Write and conduct formal annual performance reviews and goals for direct reports.
  • Help to define and manage Trainersโ€™ performance metrics and goal.
  • Work with training staff and Production Supervisors to coordinate training efforts in production areas.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of trainers against establish department and positional standards and provide coaching as needed.
  • Maintain area-training matrices, schedules and plans
  • Drive our Culture Strategy by fostering our mission, founding values, individual and leadership expectations.
  • Proven track record of being an effective Supervisor in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing company
  • Effectively manages task breakdown, helps keep individual contributors on task, player-coach, ability to step in and perform hard tasks
  • Significant computer experience including MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably SAP and Agile

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum BA in education or BS degree or equivalent and minimum of five years experience in managing operations or training activities and material flow in high and low volume, manufacturing environments.
  • At least 2+ years Supervisory experience.
  • At least 3+ years experience in Training department or similar.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to present training course material to individuals and groups and to effective facilitate their learning process.
  • A firm expertise of Demand Flow Technology / Lean Manufacturing concepts and disciplines.
  • A firm comprehension of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Intuitive Surgical Quality system requirements.

Nice to Have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Organizational skills.
  • Experience In medical device industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Kanban systems and other Lean material flow practices preferred.
  • Demonstrates concern for precision and thoroughness.
  • Proven ability to manage a team to consistently achieve stretch goals and targets.
  • Ability to provide positive direction by encouraging peers to have a commitment to high standards of quality and performance.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
