The Market Research Analyst will join our Business Development Team and conduct supporting research to provide market, customer, and competitor insights and guide strategic decisions. These contributions will be critical to drive Addgene’s international growth and new business initiatives, and to help advance our mission. |

This position will work hybrid out of our Watertown, Massachusetts Headquarters. Our beautiful office space has ample parking with a free shuttle from Harvard Square and is on multiple bus lines, with the cost of public transit covered by Addgene for those onsite 4 days a week or more. Addgene's Covid-19 Safety Measures At this time, all employees of Addgene are required to have been fully vaccinated (two weeks out from second dose) in order to enter our office space. |

In joining our team as an “Addgenie”, you will work with multidisciplinary internal teams to help fulfill this mission, including scientists, software engineers and product developers, renowned customer support teams, marketing gurus, and business development professionals. Together, Addgenies create and enhance opportunities for research scientists to deposit their materials, find products and resources easily on our website, and receive unparalleled support in receiving and expertly using our materials in their own experiments.
The Role:
In this position, you will conduct market research in close collaboration with other Business Development Team members to support the implementation of Addgene’s strategic priorities.
To Succeed in this Role, You Will:
- Design and execute primary market research, including creating customer surveys, leading focus group discussions, and conducting in-depth interviews
- Design and perform secondary market researchÂ
- Develop quantitative/statistical analysis and market forecasting methods
- Analyze, interpret, and present research findings in various forms of communication (e.g. executive reports, slide deck presentation) to develop actionable insights and enable the decision-making process
- Support project management and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide expertise in the establishment of a new market research practice at Addgene
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced degree in the life sciences (MS, PhD, or equivalent degree) with 1-3 years of work experience in a market research-related role; market research certification is a plus
- Good understanding of business operations and development in life sciences biotech is a plus
- Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills and demonstrated attention to detail required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills requiredÂ
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with various external stakeholders (e.g. scientists, KOLs, business partners) and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team
- Strong skills with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Drive tools requiredÂ
- Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g. Python, SPSS, R), data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Google Looker Studio), survey creation tools (e.g. SurveyMonkey), and CRMs (e.g. Hubspot) is a plus
