What We Are Looking For

The marketing analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing data to identify performance trends across paid media channels to include channel, placement, and creative level insights. In some instances, there may be a need for market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive activity reporting needed. The marketing analyst will use their findings to help evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing campaigns, using metrics such as customer acquisition costs, conversion rates, and return on investment. This will help to inform marketing strategies and tactics that improve brand awareness, increase customer engagement, and drive revenue growth. This person must be a self-starter, and go-getter. The ideal personality match is someone who keeps going until they find an answer or has a strategic POV on how to best articulate their findings.

  • Role will report to Director of Paid Media Marketing

  • Marketing Analyst will be responsible for sharing data finding to paid media team to help formulate presentations and insights that will be shared to the executive team

  • Marketing Analyst will be responsible for bringing accurate data points and recommendations based on the data to help guide investment levels. Data performance will tie to traffic and conversion level metrics.

What You Will Own And How You Will Make A Difference 

1. Collecting and analyzing media performance such as channel, placement and creative level learnings to help identify what’s driving impact to the business and aligns to the appropriate.

2. Identify wins and challenges/losses to inform weekly and monthly optimizations. 

3. Interpreting data and creating reports that inform marketing strategies for advertising campaigns.

4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including ecommerce, influencer and social to identify performance trends across marketing plans.

5. Identifying opportunities for growth based on performance of marketing/advertising campaigns.

6. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, to help identify solutions for Thirdlove in the data and analytics space.

7. Stay engaged and continue looking for answers. If the data at your fingertips doesn’t provide the answer, look for workarounds or the best approach possible to help demonstrate what the data is telling you. 

8. Role must be in San Francisco, with 2-3 days in the office.

9. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Who You Are

  • To be successful as a Marketing Analyst, candidates should have strong analytical skills, be comfortable working with data, and have a deep understanding of marketing principles and best practices. 
  • Candidates should have excellent communication skills, as they will need to present their findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in marketing research, statistical or data analysis (or academic equivalent).
  • Experience in advanced analytic and statistical techniques related multivariate and A/B testing, digital revenue attribution, and marketing effectiveness. Customer segmentation is good to have but not required.
  • Experience building and automating management level reporting.
  • Experience and proficiency in Looker, GA4, UA and LiveRamp; Experience in MTA and MMM models nice to have
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Excel
  • Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in google slides

Physical Demands

  • Stand or Sit : Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 60% of the time
  • Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer, printer, etc.
  • See: The ability to observe details at close range like digital writing (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Talk & Speak clearly: The ability to verbally communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, many of these interactions can be online and will require verbal exchanges.
  • Hear & Verbal Comprehension: The ability to listen to what other colleagues verbally express and understand the information that has been provided.
  • Walk:The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Thought Processing: be able to make logical connections between thoughts and/or actions. Be able to understand their relevance to achieve a goal or keep the thread of conversation.
