ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a small business, we've experienced tremendous growth over the past few years. We've scaled up, established our culture, and now are ready for the next phase of growth. We are actively multiplying our size, and plan to grow even further in the coming years.
We need someone who can show up equipped with experience, ready to continue to build our marketing department. With strong positioning from our owner, we believe your strategically focused marketing efforts will give our small sales team the B2B following they need to grow our impact. Our team is ready with capacity to serve on bigger and further opportunities, and we believe you'll help lead the way. We need event planners who have never heard of us to place their trust in our hands on their biggest days of the year. You'll be marketing an incredibly capable team, knowing you can stand behind the promises of service you'll be marketing.
EMPOWERED AND EQUIPPED
Day one you'll be entrusted as the voice of the brand, through written, video, and other forms of outbound communication. Down the road you'll have built a team, but when you start, you'll explore the brand by personally creating and discovering what works. You'll have a budget for internal team, external support, and promotion. You'll be equipped with technology that works, an environment that fosters creativity, and a team that believes in you.

Getting to metaphorically build your own treehouse, starting our marketing team from the ground up, excites us and we believe it will excite the right candidate as well. We believe once we've found someone who is the right-fit for where we are at this life-stage of our company, the sky's the limit. Finding you, and setting you up to succeed, is the most important goal for our coming season. Your endeavors will unlock dozens of new relationships that could lead to dozens of new events every quarter for us to begin serving.
WHAT'S AT STAKE?
This paves the way for what's next for us. If we cannot find the right person, or that person cannot succeed, we're stuck where we are. We're ecstatic with our past, thankful for our present, but we're not satisfied to stay here. If performance here stalls or we're unable to gain traction, we'll be stuck at a size in a market smaller than what we've set our dreams and goals towards. Our clients are pleased with our team, and we believe once others hear and try us, we'll be able to serve more clients, and our current clients, at a higher level. Not achieving that would stifle the momentum and growth our team is excited about and hopeful towards.
THE PERFECT FIT
We believe the best applicants will be some mix of a few different backgrounds. You're familiar with B2B marketing a services-based organization like avad3. You're experienced managing a right-sized budget for a 30+ person small business. You've identified targeted lists and run outbound campaigns for attracting new leads that fit a customer archetype. While you won't be expected to personally execute the volume of writing, graphic design, video and content editing, you have experience and skills from earlier in your career that will help you manage those who are executing those pipelines for your initiatives. You're active and familiar with external platforms like LinkedIn. You are current and ready to launch backend campaign systems. You have marketing and expertise agencies to recommend and they would recommend you as one of their favorite points of contact as their client.
You don't need a massive team on day one. You can project manage initiatives that are bigger than yourself. You have experience in marketing but are ready to lead, ready to have the reins yourself after serving other marketing leaders for years. You're driven by growth and want to be rewarded by sharing when we win. You're excited for this, you understand what's at stake, and confidence from your past emboldens you to take this on for your future.
Requirements
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?
Over the coming years we believe our size will grow by multiples. Marketing leads the way. A few years from now, you'll have established a marketing team. That team will likely look like a handful of in-house content creators and a network of external marketing firms providing you with expertise. You'll lead a small but mighty force, supporting your strategy, while you serve and report directly to our owner. The success and growth of our team is counting on your success in gaining us a focused following of people who need exactly what we do best.
PROJECTS, METRICS, AND TARGETS
- Identify with clarity the precise targeted lead persona of who gets the most value from how our team delivers every day.
- Improve and strengthen our paid media advertising and content creation by giving the firm who supports us better focused leadership from us.
- Consider exploring additional firms to bolster your efforts, focusing your attention on who not how you will achieve your goals for our brand.
- Manage our content creator, focusing their energy on their unique abilities to bring the greatest ROI for his contributions.
- Plan, hire and manage the addition of a second content creator to triple our output through multiple mediums across multiple outlets.
- Ideate, plan and execute creative promotional initiatives to introduce potential clients to us on a national level.
- Cultivate, nurture and grow lists of followers with email campaigns that are helpful and educational, on-brand, with serving selflessly prioritized over selling.
- Empower the sales team with assets that turn complicated one-on-one custom selling into useful guides to empower clients to make informed decisions self-reliantly.
- Follow-up, qualify, listen and watch for followers to raise their hand opting-in to speaking with someone from our sales team about upcoming needs they have. A follower becoming a client is a joint-force between your marketing team and the sales team, and then you'll continue to nurture that contact keeping them an informed, long-term follower of all the good our team is doing for clients just like them.

We make flawless production scalable, serving event planners on their biggest days of their year by managing production. We support non-profits, agencies, Fortune 500 companies and educational clients for over one hundred of their events each year. We believe no message should be distracted by technical difficulties.
