Essential Responsibilities
Material Engineers are responsible to lead and perform characterizations under the following responsibilities:
Perform all activities with the highest ethical principles, following Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines. Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements. Follow technical guidance from other personnel and assigned teams. Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned activities, consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality and ensuring schedule requirements are met. Execute tasks related to component digitalization, material characterization, oil characterization, metallurgical sample preparation and failure mode identification

Job Description
What you'll do
- Support Materials Analysis Requests for GE Vernova Technology products.
- Perform photo-documentation of components in "as received" condition.
- Assist in metallographic sample preparation processes from components related to Package, Accessories and Gas Turbines.
- Support cost-out, product robustness and other engineering initiatives through characterization, and analysis of materials to nurture decisions for internal and external customers.
- Help and support on quality and processing tools.
- Familiarization and adherence to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) principles.
What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Being a student of Master in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field with at least 1 year to graduate.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledgeable on basic testing/characterization principles including optical, inverted and electron microscopy, hardness testing and, infrared spectroscopy.
- Familiar to metallographic sample preparation.
What will make you stand out
- You have some experience with a Scanning Electron Microscope.
- You are someone who brings openness and perseverance to complete assignments in established due dates.
Additional Notes:
- Due to the need of performing failure analysis characterizations at the laboratory, this is a 100% working-from laboratory role.
- No relocation assistance will be provided for this job. No sponsorship for VISA is available for this job.
