Summary
This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Warehouse Materials and Distribution Division. As a Materials Handler, you will perform duties associated with shipping, receiving, warehousing, issuing and storage of supplies and equipment using Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) in the production of U.S. Currency and Special Security Printing allied support functions.

Physical Requirements: he incumbent is required to walk and stand during the course of the workday. The incumbent is required to hand-carry items weighing up to 25 pounds or place on hand trucks a variety of packaged items weighing up to 50 pounds. The incumbent is required to operate a variety of material handling equipment including forklifts, boom lifts, and electric pallet jacks, etc. The incumbent may be required to kneel, bend, and climb on ladders in order to accomplish the assigned duties.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough. - This is a bargaining unit position - 1594 Lodge 174 - Columbia Lodge 174, International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (Non-Craft Employees).
- The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for work days during the shutdown period.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
