About The Job

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, creative, and detail-oriented hydrologist with at least 10 years of experience in geomorphology, geophysics, and the mining industry to join our Hydrogeology/HazWaste group for work in data analysis, permitting, and modeling surface water processes. Our hydrogeologists and engineers assist public agencies, private companies, and individual landowners to assess contamination in air, soil, surface water, and groundwater; design and implement remediation strategies; and provide services to develop, plan and manage surface water and groundwater resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Critical analysis of complex geomorphologic, surface water, and groundwater data
  • Interaction with public agency and private client staff on matters relating to permitting, data analysis, site remediation, and groundwater and surface water contamination
  • Preparation of technical reports, public documents, grant applications, and project proposals
  • Foster client connections through existing client relationships and proactive business development in the mining industry
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and customer satisfaction to our clients
  • Work closely with other Dudek Project Managers to promote our business interests in adherence with the company’s mission, vision, and values
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

Required Education, Experience and Credentials

  • 10 or more years of experience in hydrology and mining environmental science
  • Master’s degree in Geoscience and/or Geophysics
  • Highly-adept at data-analysis, with the ability to critically and independently analyze datasets
  • Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and organization skills
  • Project administration experience overseeing contracts, budgets, schedules, and technical staff
  • Experience with mining permit applications, reclamation projects, and analysis of the impacts of mining activities on surface water quantity and quality
  • Ability to travel regionally for business; reliable transportation, and a valid driver’s license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel software
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment

 

* As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.

 

Preferred Credentials and Skills

  • Ph.D. in Geophysics or Geology
  • Experience with Java, SQL, ArcGIS, SEDCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and MATLAB
  • Software development

Physical Requirements

Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.

  • This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.

Proposed Salary Range: $79,560-$97,240 annually *

*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
