We're looking for one such builder/artist at Cox Communications. We're hiring a Middleware Operations Support Lead: a tech-savvy individual who will provide leadership and direction for Tier 3 support of middleware platforms related to customer-facing OSS technologies. What you'll do:
Not only will you get hands-on experience with leading the investigation of complex software problems and identifying faulty components, but you'll also get to keep up with emerging technologies and provide input during technical discussions. In other words, you'll be doing something you love and growing your career at the same time. Here's a run-down of your other responsibilities:
  • In the event of an internally developed and/or managed services platform system degradation or outage, serving as the primary point to lead contractors through the incident command process.
  • Orchestrating cross-functional fix agents and identifying needed resources to repair.
  • Providing communication for executive and global issue status reporting notification systems.
  • Participating in hands-on debugging and troubleshooting efforts in the email environment.
  • Integrating various software components in a highly agile software development and delivery environment.
  • Working closely with development, test and project management teams and assist in each wherever possible.
  • Writing and building scripts to help automate various build processes in the development environment.
  • Supporting automated continuous integration of software components by defining test suites and writing test cases and test scripts.
  • Analyzing logs, identifying defects, suggesting fixes and reporting results.
  • Ensuring high quality of development and test activities.
  • Prioritizing your schedule to meet tight deadlines.

Who You Are
You're a self-motivated and proactive person who has great interpersonal skills. You manage time effectively and have strong analytical skills. You also have the following qualifications:
Minimum:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years of experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 18 years of experience in a related field.
  • Fluency in two or more scripting languages (Perl, BASH, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Jython, etc).
  • Familiarity with Java.
  • Experience with AWS/cloud services.
  • SQL and thorough understanding of relational databases
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle including Devops and CI/CD pipeline Architecture
  • Experience working with containerized application deployments into Kubernetes environments.
  • Working knowledge of software development and integration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in telecommunications industry.
  • Experience working for a service provider.
