The Manufacturing and Quality (MQ) Information & Digital Solutions -IDS organization is engaged in an exciting phase of transformation as we drive our Digital Plant vision across Lilly manufacturing. The Associate Director position plays a critical part in providing key source system support for the Global Engineering function (specifically Global Facilities Delivery and Indianapolis Facilities Management), MQ Learning and Development and Global Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) business areas within of Lilly manufacturing. In addition, this role coordinates and leads Automation (advanced business productivity solutions through IT automation) projects for all MQ IDS. Focus areas are STRATEGY, PROJECTS, and OPERATIONS.

Overall responsibility for IDS resources (people and systems) aligned with in-scope of business solutions. This includes people administration, inspection readiness, maintenance and delivery of value generating enhancements for these solutions, and maintaining the working relationships with software vendor and/or service providers. The Associate Director will support the development and management of business area roadmaps, planning and prioritization of work within the area, as well as the management of Lilly resources. The position will provide primary oversight of the service provider delivering application development and maintenance services for those applications in Global Engineering, Learning and Development and HSE that includes EPIC, Gensuite, Cority, Genetec, SpeachMe and numerous other small applications within the Corporate Standards Labs and HSE business areas.

This position reports to Sagar Kolli, MQIDS Sr. Director - Global Engineering, HSE Architecture, and Security.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

• Responsible for strong and stable support of key foundational source systems in the Global Engineering, Learning and Development and Health, Safety and Environment business areas
• Guide work of 6-8 direct reports (dispersed globally including India) and a number of contract workers; ensure appropriate PM plans, Development Plans are in place and within the given timelines
• Serve as the MQ Automation Ambassador for the Automation, Strategy & Operations (ASO) team within Global Services
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies provided within EDAT (Enterprise, DevOps, Automation and Tools) and incorporate policies to ensure they are applied to solutions developed in MQ by the organization
• Apply Lean continuous improvement processes into the daily operations of the team
• Manage the budget for the designated MQ IDS organization
• Engage the business areas to define and prioritize work and area roadmaps
• Align resources to the priorities of the business to ensure on budget and on time delivery
• Build and advance team capabilities for future needs
• Influence service providers' products, services, and technologies used with the functional engagement
• Evaluate and assess capability of supplier and manage the performance for the in-scope technology areas
• Manage the demand and capacity management process between the service provider and the in-scope technology area. Coordinate preparation of work request deliverables
• Prioritize service and support initiatives, to include enhancements and projects for the service provider and the in-scope technology area.
• Eliminate barriers to ensure services are delivered on time, on budget
• Manage release and deployment schedules
• Ensure effective communications across team resources and service providers
• Lead/participate in in-scope governance teams
• Lead/participate in software vendor discussions and forums, as necessary
• System custodianship for the designated area applications
• Ensuring applications in-scope and supplier relationships are compliant with all MQ standards and practices (quality, cybersecurity, procurement, etc.)

Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor degree
• Experience leading high caliber diverse team with or without formal supervisory responsibility
• Desire and ability to communicate using a variety of methods in diverse forums
• Demonstrated ability to consistently and significantly engage and influence business representatives, peers, and leadership
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically
• Desire and ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Desire and ability to operate at multiple levels (detailed and strategic)
• Demonstrated ability to triage issues and escalate only those that are appropriate
• Deep understanding of MQ IDS and Service Management Processes
• Deep understanding of GMP requirements
• Detail oriented and hands-on experience on MQ IDS System Validation, CAPA, Deviation, Change Management, Problem Resolution processes
