POSITION SUMMARY:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a safe environment for patients/customers, team members and yourself.
• Adhere to MRI Safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Effectively document and communicate pertinent and required information.
• Perform procedure protocols, produce images consistent with image quality standards and follow all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to Joint Commission/ACR standards.
• Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologist?s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Demonstrate effective time management and critical thinking skills.
• Maintain flexibility, adapt to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.
• Communicate effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) using excellent customer relation skills at all times.
• Utilize supplies/equipment with care in a safe, proficient and cost–effective manner.
• Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment.
• Able to respond to life threatening situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Graduate of a Joint Review Committee approved Radiologic Technology program, or equivalent approved school of Radiologic Technology or
• Graduate of a JRCNMT Nuclear Medicine Program or
• Graduate of JRC–DMS Sonography Program.

Licensure: Licensed as a General Radiographer in the state of Florida, if applicable.

Certification:

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) or
• Registered by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in nuclear medicine technology or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or
• Registered in Sonography by ARRT or in any sonography–related modality by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography).
• Advanced ARRT (MRI) examination obtained within two (2) years of hire/transfer.
• Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to report to department within 30 minutes when on call.
• Ability to work safely in a magnetic environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience: Prior MRI experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office ? Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physically agile; requires walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching majority of the shift.
• Heavy work that frequently includes lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with or without assistance.
• May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or over head.
• May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
• May be exposed to inside environments and outside environments with extreme temperatures, air contamination, dirt, grease or water.
• May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC Guidelines.
• May operate various types of manual and motorized equipment used in the transportation of materials.
• May be exposed to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined work position.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Visual acuity and hand–eye coordination to perform tasks.
• Workspace may vary from open to confined; on site or remote.
• May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
