Job Description
Gowan Company is looking for a Network Technician to provide Gowan network infrastructure and telephone systems support relating to the day-to-day operations and collaborate to protect the company’s data and information systems from cybersecurity threats.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide network support and configuration management, conducting upgrades/modifications to infrastructure and other network installations.
- Perform network performance analysis (i.e., traffic load, connect time, transmission speeds, and throughput).
- Provide 2nd level support for Telephones and Telephone Systems Infrastructure.
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and other IT personnel for problem resolution related to the Telephone Systems Infrastructure.
- Ensure the highest levels of availability of the Telephone Systems Infrastructure.
- Support collaboration applications and videoconferencing systems.
- Protect the Company’s data and information systems from cybersecurity threats; identifying, analyzing, communicating, and containing incidents when they do occur.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain endpoint security for servers and computers.
- Perform Cybersecurity training for the company employees.
- Support Microsoft Office 365 security and perform security audits.
- Collaborate with other IT groups to maintain IT Systems up to date.
- Support and monitor Email Security Solutions.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline. (Desired)
- Working knowledge of PC’s and operating systems such as Windows 10, Windows 11, Mac OS, Linux
- Knowledge of installing, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Server Operating Systems
- Knowledge of On-Premises Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active DirectoryÂ
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Applications and Security such as:
- a. Intune
- b. Exchange Online
- c. Teams
- d. OneDrive
- e. Compliance and Security
- f. Security audits
- Experience with LAN/WAN networking, IPv4, DNS Server, DHCP Server, VPN, LDAP
- Understanding of Cybersecurity standards
- Knowledge of Email Security Solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bi-lingual preferred: English, Spanish
- Occasional Travel Required
