Job Description
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks an MD or equivalent Physician with subspecialty training in pediatric infectious diseases to join our Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. The successful candidate will be expected to be board-certified or board-eligible with a commitment to the clinical care of children with infectious diseases. Rank, tenure status and compensation (including a generous fringe benefits package) are dependent upon qualifications. This position will include opportunities to establish a research program, and be involved in antimicrobial stewardship, Infection Prevention and Control and/or Transplant ID.

UVA School of Medicine Education
Clinical research: UVA SOM has an active and vibrant clinical research enterprise. The UVA human subjects institutional review board (IRB) is accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP) and as such can act as the IRB of record for multi-site investigator-initiated trials; the UVA IRB also accepts National Cancer Institute (NCI) Central Institutional Review Board (CIRB) protocols. The SOM is served by two clinical research offices, the Office for Clinical Research (OCR) in the Cancer Center and the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) in the SOM, as well as a clinical trials management system (CTMS, OnCore) and a robust trial start up program (CR Connect). Qualifications
The position is open to individuals with M.D. or D.O. degrees and candidates must be eligible for appointment to the University of Virginia faculty. The position is for tenure or non-tenure tracks at the professor, associate professor, or assistant professor rank as appropriate. Individuals with established laboratory or clinical research programs are preferred. Expertise in care of the immunocompromised host preferred. The incumbent must be board-certified or board eligible in pediatric infectious diseases, and will be expected to contribute to clinical service in that subspecialty.
