Job Description

Cyient Inc. currently has an opening for a remote based Outside Plant (OSP) Designer, responsible for OSP Fiber, FTTP, Fiber to the Premises, Circuits, 5G, HFC, and BAU, Subsidized Broadband and Network Transformation work orders in the greater Philadelphia, PA area. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, intelligent individuals with previous OSP engineering and Field data collection experience. Ideal candidates will have previous experience designing multiple OSP telecom projects simultaneously, including (but not limited to) Pole/Make Ready, FTTP, HiCap and BAU projects, Subsidized Broadband, Network Transformation switching copper to fiber, Circuits, Field Surveys, and be experienced with client software systems including ICGS/IDDS, PRS, Adobe, Microsoft Team and Excel and Outlook. The ideal OSP Designer will also travel to the field to survey, confirm, and assess current field conditions and meet with the customer as they relate to ongoing OSP designs. Must be able to meet deadlines our customer requires.

Candidate must have reliable transportation to multiple work locations daily and self-manage their work load and work schedule.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree (preferred)
• Must have experience in the Telecommunications Outside plant engineering and/or construction industry.
• Should have good understanding of basic computer concepts and technology. Experience with Verizon Telecoms strongly preferred.
• Should have strong understanding of Design and construction of Outside Plant Copper and Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried, BICS) and manhole and conduit design (strongly preferred).
• Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1) and distribution networks (F2), 5G/Smart City high level designs is strongly preferred..
• Should be proactive and a self-learner.
• Possess strong professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data.
• Should have good attitude and ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to communicate daily progress status to all reporting managers & stakeholders.
• Ability to be unsupervised at times and adhere to all Cyient Safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to perform Field Surveys in all weather conditions.
