Part Time Calendar Editor

Summary:
The Marin Independent Journal is seeking a detail oriented Part Time Calendar Editor to curate and maintain the coverage of the county's arts entertainment scene. As the Calendar Editor, you will play a crucial role in organizing and managing event listings and calendar content across online and print platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring that our calendar section is accurate, comprehensive, and appealing to our diverse audience.
What you will do:

• Edit and compile multiple weekly calendars, from literary events to religious celebrations to art gallery showings
• Coordinate with community partners via phone and email
• Produce lists of recommended events for readers throughout the week
• Research unusual or unique events to spotlight
• Compile photos for articles and calendars

What you will bring:

• 1-2 years of journalism or editorial experience
• Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
• Good knowledge of AP style
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
• 4-year college degree (journalism or related fields) and 2 years prior experience in an editorial role

Must be located in the Bay Area.
The hourly wage is $20.00 - $22.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
