The Payments Partnerships team pursues, establishes and manages eBay’s relationships with a growing list of global partners with the goals of accelerating growth, driving revenue and decreasing operating cost. The role of the Payments Partnerships Manager will manage eBay’s most critical payments and financial services partnerships, with a focus on driving the execution of joint initiatives and launching new offerings to benefit eBay users. Our payments platform enables buyers and sellers around the globe to pay and be paid. Your role will be essential in deeply understanding the payments landscape, assessing trends and potential opportunities to expand capabilities through partnerships, leading partner initiatives, critical issues and surfacing growth opportunities. 

Successful candidates will have outstanding relationship leadership skills with a consistent record in using their payments knowledge, efficient communication abilities, and creative approach to problem solving to enable core payment business growth and cost optimizations.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Understanding partner capabilities in market and assessing fit/opportunity to eBay.

  • Finding opportunities and driving growth through implementation of new solutions.

  • Leading the partner relationship product road map and delivery to business goals/business KPI's.

  • Establishing yourself internally and externally as the main point of contact for all matters related to partners under your management.

  • Being the voice of the partner internally, serving as the advocate for your partners cross functionally. Providing input into strategic opportunities for new products and improvements using partner capabilities.

  • Drive measurement and reviews of partner performance, i.e. lead Quarterly Business Reviews.

  • Build scalable structure and process to ensure consistency and quality in partner management activities that can be applied to additional and/or regional partnerships.

  • Identify and resolve issues, friction points to achieve business goals and optimize partnerships.

Key Characteristics: 

  • Holistic problem solver able to anticipate end to end implications and requirements for partnership, including financial, technical, product, marketing and operational.

  • Able to creatively lead through influence, drive opportunities, issue resolution, and process efficiency across complex cross functional organizations.

  • Excellent communicator, comfortable presenting and gaining partner buy-in at executive levels.

  • Successful track record juggling multiple, time-sensitive, strategically-important initiatives.

Experience Requirements: 

  • 6+ years' experience in strategic partner management or business development; additional experience in product management, operations, or strategy a plus.

  • 5+ years‘ experience in online payments, ecommerce or marketplaces industry specifically.

  • Outstanding analytical, communication and presentation skills.

  • Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Creative, resourceful, diligent, highly organized.

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required, MBA a plus.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$88,000 - $137,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
