As our People Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Head of People Operations and Technology and play a crucial role in ensuring our People Operating model is fit for purpose as we continue to scale. You will lead a small team to deliver a highly engaging employee experience, ensure compliance, and reflect our company mission and values.
A Day in the Life:
- Design and Implement Policies: Lead your team in designing people services, policies, and processes that ensure compliance and deliver a highly engaging employee experience. Regularly update these to reflect changes in the legal and regulatory landscape.
- System Management & Implementation: Oversee the architecture and effectiveness of People systems, ensuring the delivery of compliant People data for reporting and insight. Work closely with the project team and support the implementation of a new HRIS.
- Employee Administration: Manage employee administration frameworks, reducing manual processes with support from automation and AI.
- Service Quality: Ensure we have a scalable approach to handling tickets, providing high-quality responses, and utilising data to enhance our knowledgebase, promoting increased self-service options for Zopians.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the first escalation point for people operations, resolving issues promptly and effectively, and delivering root-cause solutions.
- Knowledge Management: Lead People Team knowledge management and work closely with Internal Comms to deliver a self-service People Team portal for Zopians.
- Risk Management: Oversee SMCR governance and risk management for the People function, including regular reporting.
- Collaboration: Partner with wider People, Finance, and Legal Teams to enable new initiatives through technology and People operations.
- Efficiency: Evaluate the cost of delivered services and seek efficiencies without compromising quality.
- Leadership: Provide outstanding leadership to your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- External Insight: Bring external insights and industry best practices to enhance team performance.
About You:
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in People Technology and Operations in a scaling Technology or FS-led business (ideally).
- Operational Maturity: Deep experience in supporting the maturity journey of People Operations, enhancing self-service and knowledge management.
- Data-driven: Analytical mindset with experience using data for decision-making.
- Leadership: Program and project leadership skills, with experience managing large-scale change initiatives.
- Compliance Knowledge: Excellent understanding of UK employment law and compliance.
- Inclusive Mindset: High EQ, integrity, and an inclusive approach to leadership.
- Problem-solving: Ability to generate effective solutions to new situations and problems.
- Coaching Skills: Experience in coaching teams to higher performance.
- You'll be highly adaptable with a good level of pragmatism and of course, a good sense of humour :)
