Physician – Transplant Infectious Disease – Grand Rapids – 230 Michigan Street

Join a collegial practice with a dedicated group of 14 physicians and 8 APPs. This position requires an Infectious Diseases Physician, who has clinical expertise and has completed extra training or sub-specialization in Transplant Infectious Disease. In addition to performing inpatient and outpatient general infectious disease consultations, physician is expected to see outpatient and inpatient transplant recipients and candidates. Physician will be rotating on General ID, Transplant ID and Academic Services.

• Patient populations treated: Lung Transplants, Heart Transplants, and Kidney Living Donors.
• We have completed over 250 heart transplants, nearly 400 lung transplants, over 500 LVAD implants, and over 100 pediatric kidney transplants.
• We care for over 700 patients living in our community.
• The transplant team consists of multi-disciplinary team members including social workers, financial coordinators, a psychologist, RN coordinators, dieticians, pharmacy tech and pharmacists, surgeons, a variety of specialized physicians, APPs, and respiratory therapists.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO)
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Fellowship Trained in Infectious Disease  
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Michigan

• LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
• LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required

Preferred Qualifications

Physician should have experience managing solid organ transplant recipients including but not limited to heart, lung, and kidney transplant recipients, in addition to management of Ventricular Assist Device Related Infections.
