Tecovas is the first direct-to-consumer western brand, founded with the simple goal of making the world’s best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike. 

Tecovas is looking for a Merchandise Planner. Reporting directly into the Planning lead, you will primarily be responsible for product level forecasting and buying for the Accessories Category across channels, partnering cross-functionally and working closely with Merchandising to gain alignment, and ensuring financial goals are achieved while supporting overall company initiatives.

This position is based out of Austin, TX but will have the ability to work from home and in-office.

What you’ll do:

  • Inventory Management: 
    • Manage inventory levels to maintain a healthy stock position and ensure in-season products are stocked at the warehouse. 
    • Effectively report and communicate inventory positions, including out-of-stock sales risks and overstock products.
  • Category & Item Forecasting
    • Collaborate with merchandising to develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities by department and class.
    • Build Pre-Season plans for the department creating both tops-down and bottoms-up plans to support the departments strategies and financial goals, including sales, inventory, and margin, using targets provided by finance
    • Partner closely with Merchandising on assortment and pricing for new product launches, communicating any risks and ensuring IMU and financial targets are achieved
  • Promotion and Product End of Life
    • Strategize and collaborate with Marketing and Merchandising on future promotional plans, ensuring financial targets are achieved and teams are aligned on execution
    • Identify SKU level markdown suggestions to maximize promotional and marketing strategies in partnership with category merchant
  • Financial Updates and Reporting
    • Analyze and present weekly, monthly, and annual forecast and results while collaborating with cross functional teams on actionable takeaways to drive positive change or mitigate risks
    • Lead monthly Open to Buy for a department, incorporating current trends and future expectations to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks by presenting forecast and action plans to hit sales, inventory, and turn goals set by Finance
    • Report on product performance, trends, and key insights with Design and Merchandising to help support line plan development for future assortments 
    • Build ad hoc reporting and tools on an as need basis to support strategic business decisions 

Experience we’re looking for:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Planning experience in consumer/apparel/fashion
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, mainly using Excel
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
