You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Powered Support Systems Mechanics without more than normal supervision. Experience making repairs on electrical systems, generators, voltage and current regulators, starter motors, and magnetos. Experince operating common tools such as distributors, electrical governors, automatic relays, battery chargers, electromagnets, transfer switches, fuel pumps, and/or oil pumps. Working under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

• PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent bending, reaching, stretching, climbing and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions for long periods. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds; occasionally handles heavier items. Uses lifting devices such as overhead cranes, hoists and forklifts to lift and position heavy items.
• WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a large maintenance building which is generally well lit and heated. Exposed to exhaust fumes, chemicals, excessive noise, dirt, oil, grease, etc. Subject to cuts, bruises, back strains, shocks, burns and skin irritation. Follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment as required.
