Our team needs a strong Principal Integration Foundational Architect. If you're the one, here's what you'd be responsible for:
As a Principal Architect at Nike, you'll act as an Expert on specific and emerging technologies in highly available, global-scale business critical systems. You'll work on the most sophisticated projects and contribute to the overall strategic vision of the organization.
You'll be an authority in scalable platforms, integration patterns and responsible for the integration and automation platform architectures and customer reference implementations for the enterprise. This opportunity also involves evaluating, designing and establishing technical protocols and standards for enterprise-wide use and evaluating vendor solutions.
You'll provide thought leadership, create strategies and make recommendations on a wide variety of sophisticated issues having a significant and strategic impact on processes and the business.
Principal Integration Foundational Architect - Responsibilities:
- Leads Enterprise Integration Platform Architecture function
- Develops vision, strategy and execution in alignment with Domain roadmap demand plans for Integration and Automation Platform Architectures
- Works closely with other Foundational Architects, Platform Engineering and our internal customers' Domain & Solution Architects, and Engineering leaders to ensure strategy and execution alignment
- Delivers integrations inclusive of on-premise through cloud and COTS to custom developed solutions and all combinations
- Creation and maintenance of Platform Architectures as required by Platform teams
- Ensures NIKE Global Technology keeps up with the latest technology industry trends, product and solutions
- Advocates and drives adoption of standard methodologies to ensure standardization of integration and automation architectures across the Enterprise
- Alignment with Nike Global Technology strategies through strong technical thought leadership
- Effectively manage priorities, work, and timelines with little need for escalation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
- Current knowledge of industry standard methodologies in event-driven architectures, near real-time streaming platforms, and also older data integration approaches (like ETL/ELT, and managed file transfer)
- Deep Kafka expertise, with experience in Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, REST Proxy, Mirror Maker, Avro Schema Registry, and KSQL
- Experience with Business Rules engines, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools such Automation Anywhere, BPA Business Process Automation
- 7+ years in architect roles and experience in performing the responsibilities of solution architecture, 3+ years as a lead architect
- 10+ years combined hands-on engineering experience with public cloud, distributed computing, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and custom developed solutions
- Large enterprise experience including global experience with solution delivery
- Demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influence leadership skills - ability to work cooperatively at all levels in matrix environment
- Strong facilitation skills and experience in managing senior team member relationship, partnership and interactions. High level of executive presence.
- Exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills with ability to facilitate technology strategy, requirements and architecture conversations with all key partners (management, business users, and technology resources)
- Self-starter with high motivation and passion who thrives in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change
Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.
