Join our team as a Principal Software Engineer - Ad Serving (Java).
SpringServe (now part of Magnite) is a video ad server for some of the biggest CTV publishers, TV manufacturers and platforms around the world. We process over 350 Billion events a day through our real time systems and growing. We run a globally distributed ad serving system that handles 100's of billions of requests a day. Our ad server executes a real time auction that brings in all of the possible advertising demand, in order to achieve the greatest possible revenue per second in an ad break.If you are looking to take on hard technical challenges on a small team, SpringServe is the right environment for you.
In this role you will:
As a member of the SpringServe Ad Serving team you will have an opportunity to work on bleeding edge applications from the ground up. You will be responsible for various project initiatives to improve the delivery of hundreds of billions of transactions per day through our real time ad server.
You will work alongside our lean team of well-rounded experienced engineers to drive full features across the entire stack and develop new tools and technologies in the video ad serving space. You will assess and continuously improve the development lifecycle and play a key part in influencing the direction of our products and technology choices. As a Principal Engineer you will lead development efforts, critique designs and solutions and solve problems.

• Extensive Java experience
• Experience working in the ad-tech industry
• Always coding

We're looking for someone with:

• 7-10 years experience software development in Java with knowledge of Vertx, OOP, Multi-threaded/Concurrent in large scale high availability systems
• Extensive experience with real time key value stores (for example: Aerospike, Redis)
• Extensive experience building, scaling, and maintaining mission critical distributed systems in AWS
• Extensive experience working in an agile environment using various software engineering methodologies

In California, the base salary range for this position is: $165,000 - $187,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).
