About the Role

Our Decision Maker Targeting products are a critical part of our clients’ strategic communications.  Fortune 50 companies, major PE firms, and leading trade associations use Applecart as an amplification layer for their ongoing communications with a broad cross-section of critical stakeholders, including: CEOs, industry influencers, members of the media, current and prospective employees, and investors. 

The Applecart R&D organization is heavily investing in our audience management tools and insights products.  Reporting to our VP, Product, you will establish the UX practice at Applecart, and own all aspects of user experience and research. The ideal candidate would combine design expertise within enterprise products with a deep understanding of data visualizations and telling stories with data.

What you’ll do:

  • Create and implement Applecart’s UI / UX vision as the founding member of our UX team and practice
  • Own our design framework, component library, and information architecture across our product suite
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and our power users to identify ways for new features / designs to simplify the complexity and intricacies of our audience building process
  • Develop new dashboards and data visualizations to showcase the value of Applecart audiences to our clients and partners

Who you are:

  • Ability to think strategically and own your end to end design vision, while also immersing yourself in the detail and execution of our active initiatives
  • Passionate about learning from our end users, and using both quantitative and qualitative research techniques to uncover and solve their most important needs
  • Experience designing for B2B software products and users.  Experience working with media measurement or research technology solutions a plus

What you’ll need:

  • 8+ years’ experience in a design role, including direct experience with software products and B2B user bases
  • A professional portfolio that expresses your point of view on user interactions and data visualizations
  • Understanding of how design trade-offs impact development effort, and how to collaborate with engineers and product managers to make sure designs are implemented accurately
  • Expertise with your design tool(s) of choice
  • Design related degree or certification preferred, but not required

This is a hybrid role. Work from anywhere on Monday and Friday and in Applecart's New York City office Tuesday through Thursday.

Compensation:

Our compensation package consists of three components: (i) a base salary, (ii) annual cash bonus, and (iii) generous equity compensation.

The base salary range for this role is between $170,000.00-$230,000.00, based on the candidate's experience and skills relative to the requirements listed in the “Who You Are” section above. The salary range provided is exclusive of a significant amount of compensation that candidates will receive in the form of cash bonus and equity compensation. The salary range provided for this role is specific to candidates located in the New York City area.
