POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a passionate and capable Process Engineer 2 to join our Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team at our newly constructed early-stage cell/gene therapy GMP manufacturing facility located in Louisville, CO. This role will primarily be focused on supporting upstream MSAT lab experiment planning and execution, as well as lentivirus production to support product lifecycle studies. Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, aseptic mammalian cell culture, bioreactor set up, execution, and clean up, scale-up and tech transfer/New product introduction of manufacturing processes to Manufacturing and assisting in Manufacturing troubleshooting (e.g., deviation investigation impact assessments, scaled down experiments). The ideal candidate will have experience in bioprocessing of viral vectors (e.g., mammalian cell culture, shake-flask, bioreactor, depth-filtration, sterile filtration) and SOP authoring in an industry laboratory. Strong communication and GLP documentation skills are essential to be successful in this role.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Specific responsibilities include:
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures for viral vector production.
- Produce small and pilot scale lentiviral vectors.
- Design and perform various lentivirus experiments (e.g., filtration/scale-up process development) and present conclusions and recommendations to cross functional team meetings to drive process development decisions.
- Assess cell viability, cell growth profiles, and cell metabolism.
- Maintain clear records of experimental work and be able to organize, report and clearly communicate results.
- Set up and execute experiments on single use bioreactor systems (e.g., Sartorius STRs)
The successful candidate will have:
- B.S. in Chemical/biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology, or related discipline with at least 2 years of experience
- Hands-on experience with aseptic mammalian cell culture is required.
- Hands-on experience with some combination of shake-flask cultures, bioreactors, or viral vector production is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with viruses (e.g., lentivirus) is strongly preferred.
- Experience with sterile filtration is a bonus.
- Proficient in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and web-based applications.
- Prior MSAT experience is preferred.
- Team player attitude, respectful of others, and open to new ideas.
- Self-starter, organized, and capable of working independently.
- Strong communication skills in technical writing and oral presentation.
- Ability to navigate a fast-paced work environment.
Salary Range: $89,500 - $108,000
