Job Description
- Driving business results and empowering informed, data-driven product decisions by providing the product organization that supports the Cox Automotive Retail Solutions Group with timely insights and thought partnership.
- Supports Analytics Lead for company/initiatives/projects that require extensive discovery effort, also serve as a Subject Matter Expert for questions related to web analytics and site audience trends.
- Manage project and the progress of supporting team members from conception through execution, conduct presentations, and makes recommendations to various levels of leadership.
- Also responsible for ensuring analytics best practices and continuous improvement of analytics methodologies/ technologies to lower level of efforts for common tasks and to improve overall team efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional teams within the organization to make data-driven business decisions aimed at growth / business optimization.
- Support throughout product development lifecycle.
- Provide thought partnership during product ideation and discovery with research and analyses that estimate potential opportunities and guide priorities/focused areas.
- Proactively identify and recommend opportunities that may not be considered by Product teams.
- Work with stakeholders and Experimentation Team to formulate Experiment Plan with proper Success Metrics by applying Experimentation best practices, perform test analyses with statistical testing.
- Provides proper analytics requirements, validate tagging specifications, and perform data validation UAT to ensure data capture will support downstream analyses needed to generate the types of insights useful for product and business decisions.
- Support the maintenance of analytics implementation, and proactively identify areas of opportunities to optimize accuracy and analytics efficiency based on existing data framework.
- Post-launch performance monitoring of the health of the Cox Automotive Consumer & Marketing Solutions' products and its businesses, proactively work with stakeholders to establish requirements for recurring and ad-hoc analytics support, including reporting, analyses, actionable insights, and recommendations to drive growth.
- Close the product lifecycle loop by showing product optimization opportunities unknown to Product teams to drive ideation.
- Collaborate with Reporting Team on automating recurring standard reports on key KPIs, leveraging them to guide custom analyses for deeper insights by applying advanced analytics methodologies to our online visitor behavioral and related business data, not only based on historical trends, but also future forecasts to inform optimization strategies.
- Present analysis results in a cohesive insights story with key takeaways, so that non-analytics stakeholders can walk away with a clear understanding of the so-what's, including recommendations on business decisions/actions based on findings.
- Review results with various levels of internal and external audiences in a concise and storytelling manner.
- Must be able to learn and use analytics and other relevant technologies (e.g. Web analytics tool, SQL-based databases, data visualization software, etc.). Must be able to work directly with vendors to resolve issues
- Supports Analytics Leads or other leaders for company initiatives/projects, may lead to drive project execution to meet project milestones and timelines after working closely with Manager or direct line of leaders to establish an aligned project plan.
- Works with Manager and direct line of leadership to define priorities, must be able to deliver against business goals working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Guides other analysts on the proper use of advanced techniques/technologies and validate their work.
- Must be able to travel by land and/or air for same-day or overnight business trips (up to 5%).
Tools:
- 6+ years experience with the following or related tools
- SQL-based relational databases (e.g. Athena, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.)
- BI Tools (E.g. Microsoft PowerBI, Domo, Tableau, etc.)
- Tableau server certification, AWS Data Analytics certification a plus
- Microsoft Office Suite (specifically strong Excel proficiency)
- Web Analytics knowledge (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
Qualifications:
- 6+ years experience in the following or related areas.
- Intermediate SQL Programming skill.
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL-based relational databases
- Previous experience with ETL processing of big data.
- Ability to develop and improve scalable process and standards that drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the Team.
- Previous experience working with machine learning or automation a plus, especially related to anomaly detection, setting thresholds, or natural language generation.
- Ability to anticipate stakeholders' needs and recognize the opportunity to provide proactive insights to build tight thought partnership.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize in a deadline-driven atmosphere with evolving priorities. Flexible working style; ability to switch gears at light speed and thrive in an agile environment
- Demonstrated effective relationship building and collaboration skills across teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and effectively communicate and present findings to stakeholders at all levels. Must be comfortable with translating pieces of analysis results and insights into a cohesive insight story, as well as articulating analytical concepts in a concise manner.
- Ability to solve problems with creative solutions, not afraid to challenge assumptions and intuitions, knows how to ask the right questions and prove/disprove hypotheses with data insights.
- Ability to translate requests/questions into actionable tasks with clear timelines.
Education:
- Required - BA/BS in related disciplines (including analytics, statistics, mathematics, sciences, marketing, business, etc.) or equivalent experience
- Preferred - Master's Degree in related discipline, analytics, statistics, mathematics, sciences, marketing, business, etc.
