Hagie Manufacturing seeks Product Engineer II in Clarion, IA.

Duties:

Executes high level applications to more complex problems.

-Execute applications such as CAD modeling, electrical harness applications, Fluid & power systems.

-Design complex geometry sheet metal parts, find proper rate application on a solution system, circuit overhead rate calculations.

-Find a desired pressure on a system hydraulic & solution, define proper wire sizes, connectors and harness layouts for different applications and products.

Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for complex problems or projects of moderate scope.

-Define material properties, geometric dimension & tolerancing, determine the maximum allowable load on a component.

-Determine engineering specifications for new product introduction projects, develop, test & prove concepts.

-Once a new part is designed, ensure material is adequate, based on material properties analyze manufacturing capabilities, run test simulations to complete the cycle fit, form & function.

Produces and evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.

-Work on ERP, CAD modeling software’s, electrical harness applications, and Fluid & power systems.

-Develop a part/system to reduce the number of processes during manufacturing.

-Outsource a complex weldment that will remove a considerable amount of tack time.

-Standardize part numbers to reduce operations in all functional areas.

Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.

-Perform new product introduction, B50 life testing, and data analysis & trends for new features.

-Perform Finite Element analysis, current draw testing for a system with different loads, and Shakedown tests.

Provides technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality, and supply management organizations.

-Understand customer needs for a specific problem and provide a solution.

-When a part is broken, work with supply management to find and develop a new supplier.

-Improve quality by setting up test plans and improving what is needed based on the data results.

-Standardize as much as possible during the design process.

Develops and/or executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.

-Develop self-propel sprayers, Liquid floaters & Detasseler machines.

-Design new features or parts.

-Evaluate parts from new vendors.

-Test new technology on the market.

Applies knowledge of company products, policies and practices to provide economies through standardization of parts and Products.

-Bill material structure.

-Reduce the number of parts as much as possible.

-Find compatibility with other systems and products if possible.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered, Product Engineering role, or related roles.

Requires 1 year of experience with:

-Engineering principles including theory, practice and product knowledge;

-Design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems;

-Product engineering;

-Engineering tools, systems, and databases;

-Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems.
