Primary Purpose:

Primarily responsible to align with labs in setting pricing on new tests based on designed financial objectives co-developed with lab management. Reviews margin issues and develops solutions that improve financial outcome and maximize market value and overall price quality. Works with Pricing Operations Lead to help conduct internal business reviews with lab operations. Position reports to Strategic Pricing Manager.

Essential Functions:

Establishes price lists, pricing guidelines (Tiers and Price Floors) and test price strategies, works with Pricing Operations Lead to produce highest quality revenue/margin outcomes.

Primary liaison for assigned lab divisions, to assist in revenue or margin strategies, evaluating upcoming R&D pipeline and setting new test pricing by working with the market research team to gather insight around the opportunity and market.

Collaborates with Pricing Operations Lead to establish revenue and margin guidelines to help control overall revenue quality and product value outcome.

Evaluates existing tests for overall quality and performance. Works with Pricing Operations Lead to address issues and develop solutions with lab management to improve outcome. Reviews new test ramp-up and long term price performance.

Analyzes testing revenue and price performance in the market.

Assists with the development of tactics to improve suboptimal tests.

Acts as a liaison with Lab Operations to identify opportunities to optimize testing revenue and profitability.

Analyzes industry standards, paying close attention to the pricing strategies of competitors.

Tracks pricing trends in the marketplace and studies customer habits to determine how much clients are willing to pay for various products, and to look for patterns in customer spending.

Understands the factors that drive the cost of production of various items, the profit goals for ARUP, and the associated costs to support.

Works with Clinical Product Manager to help identify features and positioning of products, which can influence how much clients are willing to pay, and provide advice during the R&D phase to help create the most income for the company.

Other duties may include maintaining price lists, contributing content for sales proposals, reviewing price quotes, generating pricing reports on sales revenue and preparing revenue forecasts and budgets.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
