Program Manager, Embedded Software

We are seeking an Engineering Program Manager who would be responsible for supporting the Software/Firmware product development of WiTricity’s Wireless Charging Electric Vehicle Solutions. This role provides program management for highly resonant wireless power systems and products for the automotive market. You will work with cross functional engineering teams to deliver high quality firmware and software solutions in support of our product portfolio, and support defining processes and collateral associated with our development process. This is a hybrid position based out of our Watertown, MA headquarters.
Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain project plans for firmware and software product development, while driving closure on issues and gaps. Collaborate with product and engineering leads to ensure alignment on delivery and schedules relative to larger program requirements.
• Coordinate across software/firmware development teams and other internal groups to design, build, test, and release software on time and with high quality. Partner with FW/SW Leadership to ensure alignment on resource planning.
• Identify and manage requirements between teams, as well as software delivery risks. Ability to collaborate and lead full breadth of development cycle, from initial ideation and research through productization and mass production.
• Partner with international development teams for both research projects as well as NPI development with manufacturing partners.
• Lead efforts with external development partners, managing roadmaps and deliverables while maintaining budget targets.
• Synthesize and communicate the details of project strategy at multiple levels including executive team, product management, and marketing.
• Recommend and implement risk mitigation plans while maintaining high quality. Assess risk in programs and recommend solutions to a range of difficult problems.
• Organize program review meetings with executive management to review execution strategy and project status.
• Assist in development of processes by which projects are executed and reported on. Continuously drive team to seek efficiencies by improving processes and tools.
• Identify statutory and regulatory product safety requirements for target markets.
• Ensure that customer requirements are understood, met and applied within the defined scopes and the employee area of work responsibility.

Requirements:

• BS in an engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in program management within a product development team.
• Experience delivering products comprised of software, electrical, and mechanical elements.
• Proven record of delivering new software features, ideally in an embedded environment.
• Experience working with research teams, helping develop concepts, and usher ideas from early stages into readiness for full product development.
• Experience managing firmware suppliers and third-party development partners desired.
• Demonstrated ability to track deliverables and dependencies; Identify and report progress, issues, risks, and costs.
• Must have an execution orientation and a passion for continual process improvement; Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including interactions with remote teams.
• Able to influence and bring technical recommendations or requirements across teams in other disciplines and geographic locations.
• Agile experience preferred. PMP certification a plus.
• Good knowledge of quality planning core tools for IATF 16949, product hardware and software engineering desired. Ability to apply IATF core tools APQP/PPAP/CP a plus.
• Automotive/Electric Vehicle experience a plus.
