Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an individual contributor Project Manager (Level 2) to support the Life Cycle business unit. The selected candidate will be physically located in Salt Lake City, UT.

The primary objective includes management of issues and risks to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Additionally, this role will play a key role in process improvement initiatives, maintaining customer relationships and supporting program leads with developing sustainment solutions and risk mitigation plans.

A Project Manager (Level 2) is responsible for coordinating and managing all phases of execution, from inception (proposal development) through completion (contract closeout). This position will be responsible for managing overhaul and repairs, spares, system upgrades and NRE, but not limited to, major prime contractors, commercial and international (FMS/DCS) contracts. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
- Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients

- Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
- Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks
- Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
- Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
- Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives
- Most assignments are complex and performed independently without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
- Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives. Acts as an advisor to senior management and customers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, plus 3 years of Program/Project Management or Engineering Program Manager/IPT Lead experience, which includes program cost, schedule, and technical management.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross functional teams.
  • Ability to make decisions that impact the organization's credibility, operations, and services.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government, DoD Secret clearance, clearance not required to start.
  • Direct knowledge of O&R Reports; must have quantitative/qualitative analytical, and presentation expertise
  • Strong communication, team building and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, upper management, and customers
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ability to recognize and respond to customer needs in order to develop additional sales that support organizational objectives
  • The ability to identify, orchestrate, coordinate and controls the management activities and processes that integrate program interdependencies throughout their life cycle to achieve successful program completion.
  • The ability to plan and execute a project quality management system to satisfy quality requirements and create a project value system, which emphasizes prevention over inspection and continuous process improvement.
  • The ability to establish and apply a technical performance baseline to monitor and compare key program technical performance measures, assess program and product status, and take appropriate action to maintain conformance with the baseline.
  • The ability to effectively plan, define, establish, communicate, monitor, and control scope to ensure that all of the work required and only the work required is performed.
  • The ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite; including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Working knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience making presentations to various all levels including Senior Management
  • Able to obtain Security Clearance depending upon program needs

Salary Range: $58,800.00 - $88,200.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to basepay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO)for vacation and/orpersonal business.
