Project Manager

Location: Richmond, VA - local candidates only - within 50 miles
Position Type: Hybrid, 4 days per week onsite
Contract Length: 3 months, extension likely
Position Overview:
The Project Manager will oversee a network transition project, focusing on managing Verizon/SAIC project timelines and providing leadership updates with deep technical understanding of networking and data technologies. The role requires extensive experience in data and network monitoring, project management, and lifecycle management of broadband circuit portfolios, with an emphasis on technical expertise over traditional project management certifications.
Required Skills:

• 5 years of experience performing Data Networking technology and operational assessments to oversee a transition project
• 5 years of Project Management experience and the ability to track milestones/deliverables and report out to leadership
• 5 years of experience in managing general network technology projects
• 5 years of extensive knowledge and experience with Data and Network Monitoring technologies, standards, and practices.
• 5 years of experience deploying and managing multiple location network solutions
• 2 years of experience responding to and resolving agency and customer escalations
• 2 years of experience producing presentations when reporting out on status of technology projects

Experience in State/Agency is a plus. ITIL Foundations certification desirable

Duties:

• Manage project transition from legacy service to VDN-managed platform, leveraging extensive data and network monitoring expertise
• Oversee network technology projects, tracking milestones, delivering leadership updates, and resolving agency and customer escalations
• Perform comprehensive data networking technology and operational assessments for network transition
• Assist with data networking services lifecycle, including strategic planning, operations, and financial management of broadband circuit portfolio
• Demonstrate technical proficiency in network technologies, service management, and vendor/contract management
