The MBA Rotation Program (MRP) Manager position is designed to accelerate the early development of these individuals by offering the opportunity to experience several rotational assignments within Human Pharma Information Technology. The position will provide candidates: the ability to "learn by doing"; greater exposure to various departments within the business and a better understanding of Boehringer Ingelheim. Positions in the following business functions could be sponsored: Finance/Controlling, Human Resources, Human Pharmaceuticals, Information Technology and Business Development + Licensing. A Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) executive will sponsor the program, which will consist of several rotations (approximately 6 months per rotation) within the specific business function over a period of two to three years. This could include either a domestic or international rotation, contingent upon business need.

The MBA Rotation Program (MRP) Manager operates with a high degree of independence.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Business Consultancy: Influences IS-related business decisions through a consistent and direct engagement of clients at all levels in one business domain. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of that business domain, including key business processes, and develops an understanding of interactions with surrounding business domains. Achieves influence through an acknowledged recognition of client needs and corresponding IS opportunities. Communicates with clients in business terms. Independently proposes improved business processes, and with supervision, proposes new business processes, introducing innovation where possible. Addresses all other aspects of the IS Business Partnering Business Consultancy role.

2. Project Management: Independently for a small project and with supervision for a large project, plans, organizes and oversees resources to achieve the goals and objectives of that project. Addresses all other aspects of the IS Business Partnering Project Manager role.

3. Demand Management: Independently performs a liaison function between the business and internal providers of technical services. In close partnership with key business stakeholders, matches and independently prioritizes demands on IS services to maximize value to the business. Addresses all other aspects of the IS Business Partnering Demand Management role.

4. Domain Architecture: Demonstrates Domain Architect capabilities as per IS Business Partnering Domain Architect role.

5. Program Management: Demonstrates Program Management capabilities as per IS Business Partnering Program Management role.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree from an accredited institution required, MBA or Master's preferred
  • Experience interacting with and influencing local and in some cases, global, business leaders.
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressive IT and business experience required, 3-7 years is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and coordinate efforts with colleagues from multiple functional areas.
  • Experience leading projects (Project Management Skills)
  • Strong communication + interpersonal skills, including excellent presentation skills
  • History of successful performance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and database applications.
  • Foreign language skills (German and French) a plus but not required
  • Must be mobile, internationally or domestic; ability to travel required (short and long term - may include overnight travel).
  • Advanced foundation in and understanding of: 1) methodologies for system design, development, and implementation; 2) all phases of the Project Implementation life cycle; 3) validation and regulatory requirements. Preferred technical skills include the use of prototyping tools. Must be aware of current and new technologies & their applicability to the business.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation Data

This position offers a base salary typically between $102,000 and $175,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
