Samba TV is looking for a Publisher Development Associate to join our New York team. The Publisher Development Associate will oversee Samba’s CTV publisher partners to expand existing deals, close new business, develop and operationalize monetization strategies, and provide CTV thought leadership to internal teams based on your experience in the field. Successful candidates will come to Samba with experience working closely with publishers, and a strong technical background, but should be prepared to quickly expand their scope as a strategic business leader. Direct experience working with SSPs, DSPs, DMPS, and CTV inventory, or campaign management is strongly preferred. Having a growth mindset, and the hunger to lead teams is essential in this role. 


The Publisher Development Associate will be responsible for managing Samba’s portfolio of CTV publishers, and SSP partners, and report to the Director of Publisher Solutions in Business Development. 

Responsibilities

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of Samba’s value proposition in the context of CTV, data, measurement monetization, and also the larger TV, and digital landscape. 
  • Exceptional communication skills both internally, and externally - act as the face of Samba TV, providing white glove service to all CTV publisher partners. 
  • Build trusting relationships with existing partners in order to better serve and understand their business needs. Be specific and genuine. 
  • Fluid understanding of addressable and dynamically served connected television especially as it relates to the underpinning ad tech platform partners who own the space.
  • Actively prospect and close new business with CTV publishers who add value and volume to our inventory set. Negotiate terms and pricing quarterly with those partners. 
  • Identify key areas of potential growth within our business -- be able to internally pitch, execute, and evaluate the success of those ideas as they play out in market.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, no-ego approach to problem solving in collaboration with support and sales teams. 
  • Ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders, including publisher partners, advertisers, executive leaders, product management, and data operations teams.
  • Be prepared and eager to expand your responsibilities. Rapid professional growth is planned for this role. 
  • Strong working knowledge of online video advertising, ad serving integrations, and related technology in particular in programmatic CTV advertising, and measurement is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of digital advertising and programmatic landscape with a particular focus on connected television.
  • 5+ years in technical account management or publisher/platform business development 
  • Experience working on programmatic campaigns
  • Working with DSP/SSPs to troubleshoot programmatic campaign issues
  • Lifelong learner with the desire to constantly expand your knowledge
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized proactive thinker
  • Proven track record of cultivating partnerships with overall revenue as primary success metric
  • A passion for the Digital and TV landscape, as well as solving problems for your customers and for your teammates.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong background in data and analytics
  • People-driven, engaging clients over the phone where appropriate
  • Ability to multi-task with a positive can-do attitude
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce and major video ad serving platforms (FreeWheel, SpotX, Publica, Trade Desk, GAM, Xandr, DV360).
