Python Developer

The BP&A Team plays an important role in our operations and partners closely with the finance, trading, and middle office teams to understand their needs and provide them with meaningful insights through data analysis and reporting. We are looking for an expert back-end developer to help build our next-generation analytics infrastructure.
Your Core Responsibilities:

• Be a senior individual contributor, developing our bespoke analytics database and ecosystem
• Design & develop mission-critical ETLs, maintenance, and process improvement
• Extend existing BP&A infrastructure; work as a team to design and implement new services
• Collaborate closely with local stakeholders to ensure and enhance system stability
• Act as a trusted advisor to the local BP&A lead and work closely with BP&A leaders globally
• Collaborate with global teams in Chicago and Sydney, reporting to the local BP&A lead
• Help to identify enhancements to the ecosystem that support BP&A's long-term goals
• The ideal candidate is an expert developer with strong analytical abilities and excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years working with Python in a development-focused role, including end-to-end feature design and implementation
• 5+ years of database & cloud development experience (ex. AWS Elastic, Postgres, Django)
• Experience using DevOps tools (ex. TeamCity, JIRA)
• Experience running code in containerized environments (ex., Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience creating ETLs
• Interest or experience working with Java and Kafka
• Interest in or exposure to finance or trading processes
• Someone who thrives within a dynamic, quickly changing environment
