About The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Quality Engineer who shares our passion for innovation, customer-centricity, and engineering excellence. You won’t just be a gatekeeper for quality—you’ll be a trailblazer. Working at the intersection of product, design, and engineering, you’ll define and embed quality into every step of our development process. From validating bold new features to analyzing production data for insights, your work will shape the user experience for millions of everyday consumers. This is a remote position and will report directly to our VP of Engineering, who works out of our San Francisco office.

What You’ll Own

• Set the Bar High: Define and champion quality standards, metrics, and processes that empower teams to deliver reliable, world-class products at speed.
• Be the Architect of Quality: Collaborate with engineers to build and maintain robust testing frameworks that integrate seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines.
• Think Like a Customer: Validate that we’re not just building products right, but building the right products, leveraging real-world usage data to inform testing strategies.
• Lead with Insights: Establish and track key quality metrics, using advanced analytics to uncover opportunities for improvement.
• Shift Quality Left—and Right: Drive a comprehensive testing strategy that includes automated testing, A/B experiments, canary releases, and real-time production monitoring.
• Own the Experience: Take charge of testing environments, datasets, and workflows to ensure teams can validate features against realistic customer scenarios.
• Be a Change Maker: Analyze customer-reported issues to identify root causes, share insights with teams, and lead systemic improvements that raise the bar across the board.
• Cultivate a Culture of Excellence: Evangelize quality engineering best practices, mentor team members, and inspire others to prioritize reliability, scalability, and user satisfaction.

What You'll Bring

• Proven Expertise: 5+ years in quality engineering, with a track record of leadership in teams, initiatives, or programs.
• Technical Mastery: Deep experience with tools and ecosystems like Ruby on Rails, React/Node.js, Selenium, Cypress, and Cucumber.
• Customer-Centric Mindset: Passionate about understanding customer needs and delivering high-quality solutions that exceed expectations.
• Data-Driven Approach: You let insights and metrics guide your decisions, with a strong ability to analyze and act on data.
• Fearless Communicator: Able to distill complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights and rally cross-functional teams toward a common goal.
• Proactive Leadership: A self-starter who takes ownership and consistently delivers results.
